Doll Saroj for Supporting Deaf Children
Saroj was born in India. Her name means Lotus in Hindi.
She had a bad ear infection when she was a toddler which led to her hearing loss. She now wears a hearing aid on one side to help her hear better.
Her hearing loss affects her speech, so Saroj shows her bubbly and outgoing personality in other ways. She enjoys performing magic tricks, which helps build her confidence.
Her role model is Lauren Ridloff, a former teacher and now a famous screen and stage actress. Here she is expressing her view on identity and deaf representation:
